Tom Waits – The Dime Store Novels Vol. I (Live 1974)

Dime Store Novels Vol.I

You all may know Tom Waits, known for his acting in Jim Jarmusch movies like “Night On Earth”, “Coffee And Cigarettes” (together with Iggy Pop) or you may have the Epitaph Punkrocksampler “Punk-O-Rama 4” where he covered the Alphaville song “Big in Japan” which is in my eyes the best cover of this crappy new wave shit.

This one is a real early record, recorded in 1974 live in Ebbetsfiels, Colorado, published in 2002 by EMC records. Interesting is the difference in his voice, the early records are quite different to the records especially after “Small Change”. The topic is the same, stories about outsiders, drop-outs and losers sitting drunken in bars.

John Butler Trio Live (@ The Civic Theatre 12/21/2005)

September 20, 2007 at 9:41 am (blues, music, roots)

Part two of the bootleg records, this part is dedicated to the great John Butler Trio, even if they played on the cruel “Live Earth” event.  It´s hard to explain their music, I would say somewhere between blues and roots music.

The quality of this bootleg is pretty good, but if you have ever the chance to see them live, get to the concert, but train your legs, over 2 hours standing in the crowed while nobody on the stage is moving, made me very tired! So nothing more to say, just enjoy it.

Get it!
